Hormonal health
Hormone Specialist in Hyderabad
Persistent tiredness, hair falling out, weight that moved without explanation, low mood, cycles that lost their rhythm, a libido that faded — these get investigated one at a time by different doctors, and often nothing is found, because each is being looked at alone. Hormones do not work that way. One imbalance produces several of these at once, which is exactly why a scattered set of symptoms is worth reading as a single picture.
Dr. Deepak Thiriveedi carries out a comprehensive hormonal evaluation: thyroid, cortisol, prolactin, reproductive hormones, vitamin D and metabolic markers assessed together. Sometimes that finds a specific, treatable condition. Sometimes it rules one out, which is worth knowing too — an unexplained symptom and an investigated one are not the same thing.

Symptoms that often share one cause
- Fatigue that sleep does not fix
- Hair thinning or loss, and skin changes
- Weight gain or loss without a clear reason
- Low mood, irritability or difficulty concentrating
- Irregular, absent or newly heavy periods
- Reduced libido, or erectile difficulty in men
What is assessed
Thyroid function
The most common single explanation, and the one most often missed because its symptoms are so easily attributed to something else.
Cortisol and adrenal
Too much or too little cortisol produces fatigue, weight change and blood pressure problems, and both are treatable once identified.
Prolactin and pituitary
Raised prolactin stops periods, reduces libido and causes milk production, and is often the finding behind an otherwise unexplained picture.
Reproductive hormones
PCOS and androgen excess in women, low testosterone in men, and the changes around menopause and andropause.
What the consultation involves
- 01
The whole symptom picture
Every symptom recorded together rather than separately, since the pattern is what points to the gland involved.
- 02
A targeted hormonal profile
Tests chosen by what the pattern suggests, taken at the right time of day or cycle, because several hormones are meaningless read at the wrong hour.
- 03
A clear answer either way
A diagnosis and a treatment plan, or a documented set of normal results and a considered view of where to look next.
Common questions
Which doctor treats hormonal imbalance in Hyderabad?
An endocrinologist. Hormonal symptoms are frequently spread across a gynaecologist, a dermatologist and a general physician, each treating their own part. An endocrinologist is trained in the whole endocrine system and is the one who can read several scattered symptoms as a single condition.
What tests are done for a hormonal imbalance?
It depends on the pattern, but usually thyroid function, prolactin, cortisol, vitamin D and the relevant reproductive hormones, with fasting glucose and insulin where metabolic features are present. Timing matters: cortisol has to be measured early in the morning, and several reproductive hormones only mean something on particular days of the cycle.
Can hormonal imbalance cause hair loss?
Yes, and it is one of the more common reasons for it. Thyroid disease, PCOS, raised androgens, low iron and low vitamin D all cause hair to thin, and they are all treatable. Hair loss investigated at the hormonal level rather than the cosmetic one is far more likely to be resolved.
